In order to make normal activation of the airbag system, Supplemental Restraints System Control Module (SRSCM) detects a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) for the Passenger side Body Detection System. If the seat is occupied, Body Sense Sensor detects how passenger weighs and send a signal to the Airbag Control Unit (ACU) via Controller Area Network (CAN). The ACU recognizes the signal as 3 (three) different classifications; that is, 0 (Empty), 1 (Small), 2 (Large). With these signal, ACU determines whether it needs to deploy PAB (Passenger Airbag) or not.
