B2198 NISSAN Description
The ID verification is performed through the Body Control Module (BCM) and the Nissan Anti Theft System (NATS) Intelligent Key when the push-button ignition switch is pressed. The BCM prohibits the release of steering lock or start of engine when an unregistered ID of the NATS Intelligent Key is used. The OBDII code is set when there is an inactive communication between key slot and BCM.
