The Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) Module – Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) senses the resistance (depending on what button is pressed) from the Steering Wheel Control Switch. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) sets when the module senses excessive voltage drop on the reference voltage circuit, indicating a short directly to ground.
