B2725 CADILLAC Description
The Transfer Case Range Selection Switch allows the driver to select between 5 ranges. The Transfer Case Control Module supplies a regulated 5 volts to the switch through the 5-volt reference circuit. The current travels through the specific resistor of the currently selected range – each range has its own resistor. The current is then returned to the transfer case control module through the four wheel drive switch signal circuit. The transfer case control module continuously monitors the switch signal circuit to determine whether a range change has been requested by the driver. The transfer case control module monitors the voltage on 5V reference and 4WD switch signal circuits every 10 ms. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) sets when the low side driver is ON, the Transfer Case Control Module measures an invalid voltage on the Four Wheel Drive Switch Signal circuit.
