The Body Control Module (BCM) controls the rear compartment lid latch. When the BCM receives a release input from the rear compartment lid release switch or the remote control door lock receiver the BCM pulses the rear compartment lid latch and the rear compartment lid opens. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) sets when the BCM detects a short to ground in the rear compartment lid release output circuit.
