How do I fix code C1156 NISSAN?
Check the “Possible Causes” listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector’s pins.
Cost of diagnosing the C1156 NISSAN code
The cost of diagnosing the C1156 NISSAN code is 1.0 hour of labor. The auto repair labor rates vary by location, your vehicle’s make and model, and even your engine type. Most auto repairs shops charge between $75 and $150 per hour.
When is the code detected
When steering angle sensor is not transmitting Control Area Network (CAN) communication signal to the ABS Actuator and Electric Unit (Control Unit).
Possible Symptoms
- Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Warning Light ON
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
C1156 NISSAN Description
The steering angle sensor is connected to the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Actuator and Electric Unit (Control Unit) in addition to Control Area Network (CAN) lines. CAN is a serial communication line for real time application. It is an on-vehicle multiplex communication line with high data communication speed and excellent error detection ability. Many electronic control units are equipped onto a vehicle, and each control unit shares information and links with other control units during operation (not independent). In CAN communication, control units are connected with 2 communication lines (CAN H line, CAN L line) allowing a high rate of information transmission with less wiring. Each control unit transmits/receives data but selectively reads required data only.
