- On some 2000-2005 Cadillac Deville and 2000-2002 Cadillac Eldorado, intermittently, C1298 stores in the EBCM and U1040 stores in the PCM. The DTC store when the ignition is turned from OFF to Crank, then released back to RUN. If the DTC are cleared they will not store again until the vehicle is restarted. The cause may be PCM software. Recommendation/Instruction: Reprogram the PCM.
