  The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) regulates the fuel rail pressure by controlling the fuel volume control valve and fuel pressure control valve. When the Powertrain Control Module is no longer capable of maintaining the fuel pressure the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is set.
