- Faulty fuel injector 12
- Fuel Injector 12 harness is open or shorted
- Fuel injector 12 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
How do I fix code P0212 MERCEDES-BENZ?
Check the “Possible Causes” listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector’s pins.
Cost of diagnosing the P0212 MERCEDES-BENZ code
The cost of diagnosing the P0212 MERCEDES-BENZ code is 1.0 hour of labor. The auto repair labor rates vary by location, your vehicle’s make and model, and even your engine type. Most auto repairs shops charge between $75 and $150 per hour.
When is the code detected
The P0212 is set if the Engine Control Module (ECM) is detects a low or high voltage drop or resistance at the injector 12.
Possible Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Lack/Loss of Power
- The engine may be harder to start
- Engine hesitation
P0212 MERCEDES-BENZ Description
This fault code is stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM) when the injector control circuit does not behave as expected. The ECM uses the induced voltage from the injector to indicate that the fuel injector circuit is operating correctly electrically. It does not signal the mechanical condition of the injector. When the ECM opens the ground circuit for an injector (to cease current flow) a voltage is induced into the winding. This voltage shows the electrical integrity of the injector and associated wiring. Absence of this induced voltage results in a fault code being stored in the ECM. This code is generated if the fault is associated with cylinder 12.
