A/C Evaporator Temperature Circuit Intermittent

Table of contents

P0539 FORD Possible Causes

  • Faulty A/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor
  • A/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor harness is open or shorted
  • A/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor circuit poor electrical connection

How do I fix code P0539 FORD?

Check the “Possible Causes” listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector’s pins.

Cost of diagnosing the P0539 FORD code

The cost of diagnosing the P0539 FORD code is 1.0 hour of labor. The auto repair labor rates vary by location, your vehicle’s make and model, and even your engine type. Most auto repairs shops charge between $75 and $150 per hour.

When is the code detected

When the A/C Evaporator Temperature (ACET) sensor signal is intermittent the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) will triggered the P0539 code.

Possible Symptoms

  • Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
  • A/C Inoperative
  • A/C Blows Warm

P0539 FORD Description

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) sources a low current 5 volts on the A/C Evaporator Temperature (ACET) sensor circuit. As the A/C evaporator air temperature changes, the ACET circuit resistance changes (which changes the voltage the PCM detects).
