P1443 SUBARU Description

  This is a normally open solenoid used to allow fresh air to enter the charcoal canister when purging vapors into the engine. The evaporative vent solenoid (drain valve) can also be closed to allow the evaporative system to run the leak monitor. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will set when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the drain valve is inoperative/stuck in the closed position.
