The Transmission Control Module (TCM) continuously monitors the Motor Shutdown (MSDN) circuit and the Controlled Area Network (CAN) signal for an MSDN request from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). This code is set when the PCM requests traction motor shutdown through the CAN signal or if there is an MSDN circuit fault. The traction motor inverter will be disabled.
