For 20 seconds following a vehicle cold start, the air injection system delivers a controlled amount of outside air into the exhaust system, upstream of the catalytic converter, in order to help reduce hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide gas emissions. The P2448 code is set when the AIR system detects excessive mass air flow change with the pump on and a rich exhaust system air fuel ratio.
